Our commitment to education
Part of our philosophy at GreenMuze.com is a commitment to environmental education, advocacy and awareness. In our past incarnations as environmental educators we spent time visiting schools and giving presentations on soft plastic recycling, climate change, tree protection and engine idling.
We made landfill monsters out of soft plastic and styrofoam, created Halloween costumes from garbage, performed engine idling role plays, constructed papier mâché tree sculptures and worked on giant climate change art canvases with school kids.
No matter how much we try to shield children from the unpleasant reality of global warming, young people are aware the planet is in crisis.
We believe children have a serious role to play in mitigating the negative effects of climate change. No matter how much we try to shield children from the unpleasant reality of global warming, young people are aware the planet is in crisis. Rather than terrify them with dystopian futures and scary statistics (we save that for the adults), young people can be encouraged to participate in finding solutions to the problems we face as a global community. Our school presentations are age-appropriate, fuse art and activism and emphasize our ability to work together to find solutions.
Our office is physically located on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada with correspondents and photographers scattered around North America. If you are a principal, parent or teacher interested in having the GreenMuze.com team visit your school please send us an e-mail.
