Earthrace Eco-Superboat Joins Whale Wars

E-mail Print

The Earthrace Superboat.

The formidable wave-piercing Earthrace, a 100% biodiesel and carbon neutral superboat, is set to join the Sea Shepherd in the fight to end commercial whaling. The interceptor vessel travels at 40 knots (46mph, 74kph) and will be painted black and toughened up with Kevlar for its anti-whaling mission with the Sea Shepherd.

The Earthrace Superboat.

Earthrace’s New Zealand owner/skipper, Pete Bethune, told The Brisbane Times that he decided to become involved because "this is happening in my backyard and it really pisses me off. I'm going to make a stand."

The Sea Shepherd and her crew recently announced they will film a third season for Animal Planet’s Whale Wars.

Thank the Lord! Glad to see someone finally taking a stand and doing something to help Sea Shepherd and the whales. Also, glad they got an ok for a third season on TV.

Too bad more people won't get involved. Go Sea Shepherd and Earthrace!
