The Unbearable Lightness art installation from Netherlands-based designer Tomáš Gabzdil Libertiny features 40,000 living bees that built a wax honeycomb sculptured skin over a rendition of a martyred Christ during the Design Miami Fair in Basel, Switzerland.
The Dutch designer regularly works with bees and explores, through his art, the manipulation of living creatures that are seemingly unaware of the constraints imposed by humans on their existence.
