Living in a city can be isolating, surrounded by concrete and cars, it is easy to forget just what the natural world feels like. Enter young Australian designers Brittany Veitch and Ben Landa, the creators of Bio-accessories, wearable artwork that incorporate living elements.
“Bio-accessories is a series of wearable couture pieces which mask the unpleasant sights, sounds and scents of the city in an attempt to bring some of the natural world back into civil living,” explain the designers.
Sprigs of fragrant rosemary double as a mask and a bird perch hat are both whimsical in design and practical in their application of encouraging the wearer (and passerbys) to reconnect with the natural world.
Bio-accessories will show as part of Craft Victoria: Craft Cubed – exhibiting at the Melbourne library for the month of August.
