Edible landscapes is the theme of a new exhibit at the 300-acre Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Down to Earth: Artists Create Edible Landscapes focuses on sustainability in relationship to food, art, design and agriculture.

The exhibition is comprised of large-scale outdoor art installations from six artists (or artist teams) who explored the living connection between art and farming.
The artists have created installations of medicinal herbal gardens, interactive vegetable gardens, rainwater collection sculptures, deer proof fences and a permaculture urban apple orchard.
Down to Earth runs September 12th through November 23, 2009.
