The recent SPOONER exhibit at the Yron Gallery in Lisbon, Portugal featured lamps and tables made from recycled coffee spoons and cups. Studio Veríssimo, a Portuguese industrial designer team, spent more than a year collecting the discarded items to recycle them into stunning works of art and luxury.
“Eco-design is a growing trend and compelling, based on the minimization of environmental impacts or to reduce the use of non-renewable resources in the creation of new objects,” explain the designers. “The principles of eco-design are recycling and reuse of materials…creating closed cycles of life and sustainability."
