Minimum Monument by Néle Azevedo.

1000 tiny icemen sculptures will appear at the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin, Germany at noon on September 2, 2009. The ice men are part of a continuing Minimum Monument exhibit created by Brazilian artist Néle Azevedo, and will help launch a campaign by WWF Germany to raise awareness about the effects of climate change in the Arctic.

Since 2005, Azevedo has been setting up her tiny melting men sculptures in various countries around the world. Although originally intended as a critic of the role of monuments in cities, environmentalists around the world are adopting her work as climate change art.
