Inspired by a child’s wooden toy car, UK designer Ben Wilson has created a pedal-powered recumbent vehicle – the Artikcar. Fashioned from steel tubing with an illuminated neon frame, the four-wheeled Artikcar steers by leaning into the direction you want to go.
The Artikcar was created for the Illuminated Art Car Parades in the UK, organized by Walk The Plank, and is an eye-catching advertisement for cycling with the bold lighting design ensuring the rider stays safe at night.

The Illuminated Art Car Parade, Manchester City Centre, Thursday November 26th, 2009, cars are on display from 3pm and the parade starts at 6.30pm.
Edinburgh’s Homecoming Illuminated Art Car Parade, Edinburgh City Centre, Saturday November 28th, 2009, cars are on display from 2pm, and the parade starts at 5.30pm.
