Although there is nothing green about styrofoam, Malaysian-born artist and computer animator Boey takes styrofoam cups and transforms these throwaway items into popular works of art. Using simple felt pens, the artist draws scenes from his life and also creates series of cup art depicting ongoing narratives.
Now dubbed the Styrofoam Cup King of the USA, Boey’s pop artwork sells in numerous galleries and prices range from US$100 to several thousand dollars per cup.
