With emotions running so high over the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, Greenpeace UK has come up with a way to fuel your rage – creatively. Greenpeace UK is running a Redesign BP's Logo Contest that is asking people around the world to rebrand BP to a more truthful depiction than their current logo conveys. The winning logo will be used by Greenpeace UK as part of an international campaign against BP.

Greenpeace UK explains the genesis behind their contest:
A few years ago, BP rebranded themselves as 'beyond petroleum'. And yet BP wants to invest billions of pounds into the Canadian tar sands - the dirtiest oil there is. They are threatening the Canadian wilderness, indigenous people, and the climate at precisely the time we should be cutting carbon emissions. Your brief is to create a logo for BP which shows that the company is not 'beyond petroleum' - they're up to their necks in tar sands.
Check out the amazing entries so far on Flickr.

The Redesign BP's Logo Contest is open until June 28th, 2010.
