UK-based Tom Hardwidge designs his intricate steampunk insects dubbed Arthrobots (arthropods and robots) based on real insect shapes. Using recycled deactivated ammunition, modified by adding copper, brass or aluminum for limb and wing attachment, to make his steampunk insect sculptures, he also uses various tiny metal pocket watch parts donated by the Watch Lab in UK.

Hardwidge’s Arthorobot grasshoppers, dragonflies, and other insect shapes are built using recycled materials from local stores and eBay.
