American eco-artist Tim Gaudreau continues to find creative ways to meld his art with environmental activism. His plastic boot sculpture made from 3,000 plastic bottles hot-glued together, with 300 plastic bags woven into a shoelace, was part of the “Give Plastic the Boot" campaign created to help Timberland kick-off of an international EarthKeeper Boot sales campaign. EarthKeeper Boots are made using recycled bottles.
“Our aim is to use the boot and images to strongly advocate for recycling and a reduction in use of single-use bottles,” explains Tim. “I've subsequently made a small tap for Food & Water Watch's "Take Back the Tap" campaign. This one is portable to be used on college campuses to agitate for drinking tap water and moving away from plastic bottles.”
