Yoav Kotik is an unconventional Israeli jewelry designer who likes a challenge. Like the challenge of taking old bottle caps and turning them into stunning jewelry and works of art. His stunning artwork is making waves around the globe.
Inspired by African craftsmanship, environmentalism, his urban surroundings, color, language and humor, his eye-catching bottle cap jewelry and works of art are sold around the world.
"At this stage we collect mostly metal items, especially beverages and beer caps from deferent places and cultures,” he explains. “We handle them with care, delicately polishing them from the dust of the road, molding them to create unique pieces of jewelry- the same as precious metals".
Kotik started working with bottle caps after he received a goldsmith’s kit. “There was a bottle cap in the studio. I started working on it and suddenly a whole new world opened up,” he explains.
He explains that as a jewelry designer he loves to flow with the creation process, a process that never ends.
