The Sun Rays Pavilion

E-mail Print

Just in time for the warm weather comes the Sun Rays Pavilion concept design by Michael Jantzen celebrating the return of the sun each day to the surface of the earth.

Designed to evoke the sun’s ray, twelve concrete rectangular columns are covered with photovoltaic film to harvest solar energy. The solar panels supply the electricity needed to power the pavilion as well as sending surplus energy into the local power grid.

The 150 feet tall, 250 feet long, and 130 feet wide sun structure also features five large glass sections with doors to help ventilate the pavilion.
