The MercuryHouseOne is a smallish, easily transportable, mobile pod lounge unit designed to fit into both an urban or natural environment. The interior is easily reconfigured to accommodate various uses and functions. Created by Italian Architecture and Vision’s design team, the MercuryLounge pod has an exterior shell made of Carrara marble and is powered by solar energy.
The 4.47m x 8.8m x 3.4m high (14ft 7” x 28ft 10” x 11ft 2”) unit can be transported by helicopter or truck and arrives ready to use.
The MercuryHouseOne will debut at the Venice Biennale, September 2009.
