Mexican architect Gerardo Broissin’s Shelter No. 2 is an affordable prefab modular house designed to comfortably accommodate two to three people. Created from recycled steel, the innovative design is easy to build and offers more than 270 square feet of living space on three floors.
The lower floor of the pod-like structure includes the entrance area and hydroponic gardens, the middle level includes the kitchen, living room and bathrooms, and the bedrooms and a study are located on the upper floor.
Each unit costs roughly $10,000 to build and takes a team of twelve workers one day to assemble.
