The Solar Winds Coffee House design concept from Michael Jantzen combines alternative energy technologies with an intriguing café design. Powered entirely by wind and sun, the Solar Winds Coffee House features a large vertical axis wind turbine and photovoltaic cells mounted on the top of the building.
The wind turbine and the photovoltaic cells will be used to generate electricity for the coffee house while the building will be warmed and cooled via a geo-thermal heat pump.
The cylindrical portion of the Solar Winds Coffee House contains a central counter and serving area, with tables and seating located around the perimeter of the room. Additional tables and seating will be located on two large outdoor deck areas.
