Danish NORD Architects has taken building to another level with their innovative and healing design for a healthcare center for cancer patients in Copenhagen. Healing architecture and design is believed to enhance the wellness and recovery of people with good use of light, space, and connection to the natural world and the use of healthy building materials.
The NORD Architects’ design incorporates healing architecture and at the same time suggests aesthetics of the recognizable contour and scale of a house. The building is enriched by the close relation to the surrounding landscape and consists of an inner courtyard, several terraces, and themed gardens.
”This is a very meaningful assignment for us and we have given a proposal that expresses and defines itself as a new typology between a house and an institution,” explained two partners of the Copenhagen based, NORD Architects, Johannes Pedersen and Morten Rask Gregersen.
