Finding a quiet, safe place to take a nap in busy urban environments can definitely be a challenge. Enter the Sleepbox, created by Russian architects Arch Group.
The small container (2m x 1.4m x 2.3m, 6.6ft x 4.6ft x 7.6ft), proposed for train stations, airports and shopping centers, can be rented for anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours and allows weary tourists to grab a quick nap without the expense of renting a hotel room.
The Sleepbox features a soft bed and an automated bed linen changing system.
“In the modern, aggressive cities there are no opportunities to rest and relax. If you want to sleep, while waiting for your plane or train, it may cause many security and hygiene problems,” explain the architects of their design. “We believe that urban infrastructure should be more comfortable for people. For this purpose we have developed Sleepbox. It provides moments of quiet sleep and rest from the city without wasting time searching for a hotel.”

The Sleepbox would also assist in providing accommodation to homeless individuals needing a nap or a dry place to rest.
The small sleeping chamber is also equipped with a ventilation system, WiFi, phone charging capabilities and a place to store luggage.
