American-based SERA Architects is creating an enormous 250ft tall by 150ft wide (76.2m by 45.7m) living wall for the Wyatt Federal Building in Portland, Oregon. The US$135 million project involves shading the west side of the 18-story building with seven vegetated metal fins that create a framework for the vertical gardens.

The Wyatt Federal Building green upgrade also includes rooftop rainwater catchment, solar arrays, energy-generating elevators and a smart lighting system.
