The windiest coastline in Europe has big plans for creating a stunning Turbine City. Portuguese design firm On Office, wants to turn the coastline of Stavanger, Norway into a Turbine City combining renewable energy generation with tourism.

The Turbine City concept proposal will create an integrated offshore wind farm with hotels, spas and museums geared towards tourists, cruise ships and sailors, covering 31,500m2 (339,000 sq.ft.).

The fully functional wind farm will feature 49 wind turbines, each rated at 8MW, with the potential to generate enough energy to power more than 120,000 homes.

Turbine City hopes to create an iconic sustainable energy landmark that will be as memorable as France’s Eiffel Tower or the Pyramids in Egypt.

En god ide.
De bygger alt slags ting ute i vannet i Dubai, så hvorfor ikke utenfor Stavanger også.

A very good idea.
They put everything out in the water in Dubai, so why not do so outside Stavanger.
