The world’s first LEED-certified Los Angeles NFL Stadium will cost a whopping US$800 million to build. The sustainable 75,000-seat Aedas Sport designed stadium is expected to be completed in 2011.

The innovative design, built into a hillside, reduces the use of steel by an estimated 40% and will cost US$400-500 million less to build than any other recent stadium design proposal.

“The striking design draws on the historic models of Dodgers Stadium and the venerable Hollywood Bowl, nestling the large seating bowl into the specific site topography,” explain the architects.

The asymmetrical design will also feature reduced CO2 emissions and state-of-the-art recycling initiatives.
