15,000 tons of snow and 500 tons of ice are used to create a stunning 3000m2 (32,000sq.ft) ice structure. It may not be Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, but Quebec is home to its own elegant renditions of an ice hotel - the Hôtel de Glace.

Now in its 10th year of operation, the Lac St-Joseph hotel has 36 rooms and suites with a capacity to accommodate 88 people per night. Add in an ice bar, art gallery, ice café, heated bathrooms, fireplaces and an enormous ice slide and you have everything you need for a unique stay in Canada’s only impermanent ice hotel. And then when Spring comes, the hotel melts.

The Hôtel de Glace is open January 4th to April 4th. A night in the hotel start at CAN$219.
