A living vegetation exoskeleton covers a new zero emission design proposal for the headquarters of the Province of Parma, Italy.

Created by Italian-based architectural firm StudioDosi, the innovative design is comprised of 13,500sq.m (145,300sq.ft) of office space spread over four levels, with one level built underground. The living building skin, the centrepiece of the design, operates to cool the offices with shade while providing a living air filtration system.

Parma’s office building proposal includes a range of innovative green design features including ventilated walls and wind towers for cooling, wastewater capture and recycling, photovoltaic solar panels, geothermal for heating and cooling, in addition to extensive gardens surrounding the building.
