Futuristic Green Cities

New York-based design group Terreform ONE continues to dare to dream of what our futuristic cities will look like 150 years from now. This innovative group of visionaries conjures up cities that include mass transit low altitude blimps, living tree houses, robots recycling waste and soft cars that are deliberately designed not to kill people. However, this is not the usual fantastical concept design, but rather a well-thought out living ecological system that will allow urban communities to grow and flourish without destroying the Earth or wasting precious resources.

Described as fully integrated urban planning, Terreform ONE, lead by architect Mitchell Joachim, explores what it would be like if the people who designed the roads also designed the right car for those roads, resulting in what the company describes as a “… a truly breathing, interconnected metabolic urbanism”.

I wish I had this job. Who gets to be so lucky.
And just think how vital these people are to society.
Most of us just dream-- they do it. Not fantasy but vision. Not fiction but art.
Not words but poetry. Not craft but invention.
