Constructed from recycled steel plates sourced from demolished boats, the Vostok Cabin, from Netherlands-based studio Atelier Van Lieshout, is the perfect indestructible living space. The interior includes a toilet, wood stove and sitting/sleeping benches. The movable, armored dwelling, represents the future of secure housing, according to the designers.

“The changing climate, growing poverty, wars and more are only expanding. This movable nomadic dwelling unit provides shelter from this disconcerting situation,” explain the designers. “The cabin looks like an improvised defense/attack apparatus made by a local blacksmith in order to have a better chance of survival in times of revolution and civil war.”

The Vostok Cabin is on display at the Cite de la Science in Paris until March 2011.
