The Treehouse Restaurant project was recently completed in Warkworth, New Zealand and will soon be open for business. The striking pod-shaped structure built in a redwood tree is believed to be New Zealand’s only treehouse restaurant.
The chrysalis-like treehouse houses the restaurant’s dining room with seating for eighteen people, while the kitchen and other facilities are located on the ground. The finished building is 10m wide and over 12m high, with the split-level floor sitting 10m off the ground.
The Treehouse Restaurant was constructed as part of an advertising campaign by Yellow Pages (makers of the telephone book and online Yellow Pages) and is designed by Pacific Environment Architects NZ Ltd. The Treehouse Restaurant was constructed in 66 days.
The Treehouse Restaurant is open from January 9th to February 9th for lunch and dinner. Lunch is $95 and dinner is $125 for a three-course meal. Reservations required.
