Imagine spending a night in a modern day treehouse. Swedish architects Tham & Videgård Hansson, are planning on creating a treehouse hotel for adults. Their tree shelter is made with a lightweight aluminium structure built around a tree trunk creating 4x4x4 meter boxes covered in mirrored glass. The exterior is designed to reflect the natural surroundings and sky.
The interior space, constructed from plywood, provides enough room for two people with space for a double bed, a small kitchen and bathroom, a living room and roof terrace. The windows provide a 360-degree view. Access to the treehouse is from either a rope ladder or a rope bridge.
In order to minimize impact on the local bird population, transparent stickers, visible for birds, are added to the facades.
