Dual-purpose items make a big difference in reducing unnecessary consumption as well as being more convenient than dragging around multiple things when one might suffice. American design student, Justin Gargasz, has designed an innovative home that you wear on your back. His jacket/tent design – Vessel – helps address homelessness and may assist migratory travelers by providing a dual-purpose lightweight jacket that doubles as a tent.
Gargasz explains his design, “…Vessel addresses this universal need to get away by providing the user a cocoon integrated into a jacket. At any given moment the user can go outside, take the jacket off, tie the arms around a tree, pull out the cocoon and go inside.”
