Bring nature back into the concrete jungle with a few simple steps. Designer Ji-Hye Koo has created Nature On A Tape, an innovative design that allows for strips of grass to easily be placed on top of pavement or concrete.
Koo’s design, may have some pitfalls though, the grass strips will have difficulty retaining water (particularly when the pavement heats up and/or continues to retain heat in the warmer weather) resulting in the grass rapidly browning and dying off. Perhaps, Nature On A Tape is best suited to shorter duration applications.
However, the design does continue to fuel discussion about how to bring more much needed greenery into urban settings.
