The Firewinder is a beautiful outdoor lighting solution powered entirely by wind. Created by UK inventor Tom Lawton, the Firewinder spins when the wind blows creating a stunning and trippy outdoor light.
The inventor created the light from a desire to ‘see’ the wind. Utilizing research from Faraday's discoveries of electromagnetic induction while applying Maxwell's principals of electromagnetism, combined with Savonius's designs for a simple vertical axis wind turbine and advanced developments in the latest LED technologies, the young inventor was able to realize his dream to ‘see’ wind. The Firewinder is now available for sale.
The Firewinder requires a 4-7mph (6.4-11.2kmph) breeze in order to power the 14 LED lights.
