Designed by American architectural firm David Baker + Partners, the Ironhorse housing project at Central Station in Oakland California is a sustainable planned development using reclaimed industrial land.

The eco-friendly housing development, reminiscent in some ways to Dockside Green in Victoria, British Columbia, features 95 sustainable apartments with solar heated hot water tanks, green roofs, solar panels for lighting in common areas, rainwater catchment, eco-carpeting and recycled outdoor benches and seating.
