Australian architect Max Pritchard’s sustainable Bridge House gently spans a seasonal creek. With stunning views of trees, fields and rocky banks from every window, the location called for a design that would "touch the earth lightly" explains the architect.

Designed to replicate “…living amongst the trees in an almost untouched beautiful setting”, the one-bedroom house was built for US$175,000 (€126,000) and uses predominantly local and/or easy to recycle materials.

The Bridge House’s eco-features also include solar hot water, solar heating of the black floor for night re-radiation, photovoltaic panels, a wood-combustion heater, double-glazed windows and a rooftop water catchment system.
