Celebrity hunk Matt Damon has announced the creation of a new non-profit organization with Gary White— Water.org. The new organization is the result of a merger of H20Africa, which Damon co-founded, and WaterPartners co-founded by Gary White.
Water.org will work to provide global safe, clean water access to nearly 890 million people around the globe who are without safe water and the more than 2.5 billion people without safe sanitation.
“Every 15 seconds, a child in the developing world dies from water-related disease. After visiting project sites in Africa and Asia with Gary, I've seen the problem and the impact of safe water," explains Damon.
The merger of H2O Africa and WaterPartners is designed to leverage expertise, and increase the overall social return on donations.
