Actor William Shatner (AKA Captain James T. Kirk) has penned a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in support of wild salmon.
"There is one thing you could do tomorrow that would benefit the wild stocks enormously and all your citizens who depend on this fish -- remove salmon farms from wild salmon and steelhead migration routes...," Shatner wrote in his letter to Stephen Harper.
The CanWest News Service reported that Fisheries Minister Gail Shea and British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell also received the letter explaining that salmon farms located off Vancouver Island are damaging the wild salmon populations.
