British rock group Duran Duran, in conjunction with fifty-five more musicians and notable figures, are working together to record a song to raise awareness about global warming. Artists and celebrities who have confirmed that they will add their vocals include Marion Cotillard, Youssou N’dour, Bob Geldorf, Khalil Fong, and the archbishop Desmond Tutu.
The reworked climate change song, Beds Are Burning originally recorded by Midnight Oil, is part of a mass media campaign to put pressure on politicians to come to an agreement on how to tackle global warming in Copenhagen in December 2009.
The song will be available for download on October 1st, 2009.
