Oscar wining actor, global activist and United Nations Ambassador of Peace, George Clooney wants you to make a video and let world leaders know what you are thinking. The Youtube-based campaign is part of the lead up to the next UN Assembly in New York and hopes to raise awareness about what can be done to make the world a better and safer place.
The deadline for videos is October 10th, 2009. The producers of the five best videos will be invited to attend the UN Assembly in New York, receive a guided tour of the UN Headquarters, participate in a photo op with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and receive VIP seating at the UN Day Concert on October 23rd, 2009. However, what about meeting George Clooney? Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be part of the prize package, but Clooney offers the following words of wisdom:
“Be a citizen ambassador to the UN,” explains the actor. “Go on. Speak to the world."
