E-mail Print

Actress Emily Deschanel.

Actress Emily Deschanel, from the hit Fox TV show “Bones”, has helped to get some Farm Sanctuary footage of factory farming practices spotlighted on tonight’s episode.

Tonight’s episode (November 5, 2009) of “Bones” (airing at 8pm/7 Central), starring vegan actress and Farm Sanctuary supporter Emily Deschanel, will prominently feature factory farming footage secured by Farm Sanctuary, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, as part of a plot-line surrounding a murder that takes place at a chicken farm.

The footage, which was requested by Deschanel, will hopefully educate thousands of mainstream viewers about the conditions animals are forced to endure on factory farms. The episode also features a character that rescues a pig and asks her co-workers for donations so that she can sponsor her at a sanctuary.

To further raise awareness about factory farming, FOX TV is featuring a special message from Deschanel on their website asking people to support Farm Sanctuary by sponsoring an animal in need.

There are documentaries to enlighten me if I want to be enlightened. I love the show, but that was such a crummy episode. I don't want to be indoctrinated by myTV shows. I want to be entertained. Disappointing. We just thought the writers were on vacation.

Thank you for airing a little bit of reality. Emily is a true inspiration and I am happy as a Vegan to be in the company of such a compassionate and aware person who has the ability to care about things other than her own self.
