MTV has just announced that the documentary Summit on the Summit: Kilimanjaro about Emile Hirsch, Isabel Lucas, Kenna and Jessica Biel, and a heap of other eco-celebrities, scientists and artists’ successful climb to the top of iconic Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness about the global water crisis will air in March.
The high profile eco-gang made the 19,340ft (5,894m) ascent in Africa to draw attention to the millions of people that lack access to clean water and about the growing fresh water crisis.
“More than 1 billion people worldwide do not have access to safe, clean drinking water. By airing this documentary, MTV hopes to mobilize a new generation of young people who may not be aware of this global cause to take action and get involved in helping find solutions to the water crisis,” explained Dave Sirulnick, MTV spokesperson.
The 90-minute Summit on the Summit: Kilimanjaro airs on March 14th.
