Urban On-Demand Transport

E-mail Print

The concept DOT or Direct On-Demand Transport is an innovative design solution for urban driving. British automobile designer Varun Niti Singh’s two seater, non-polluting, community vehicle concept is designed to be controlled by a centralized system of automated driving.

The DOT works to eliminate traffic caused by single occupancy vehicles that travel only during very short intervals of time in a day and remain more or less stationary for the rest of the time. The DOT encourages car-pooling and they can operate as a form of taxi or car share. The units can be used individually or several can be put together to create a larger transport system.

The vehicle runs on electrical power from onboard Li-On batteries and is recharged with solar panels on the roof and via charging stations throughout the city.

Another great in-city vehicle. I wish they start producing this vehicle this summer so that it would be ready on summer next year.
