Canada now has its first networked electric vehicle charging station. The new Coulomb Technologies-developed ChargePoint Networked Station is located at the headquarters of Rapid Electric Vehicles (REV) in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Vancouver station is the first of what the company hopes will be many networked EV charging stations in Canada.

"Canada is a strategic and important country for deployment of electric vehicle charging stations. There are hundreds of progressive organizations, utilities and government entities that have shown strong interest in laying the groundwork for the necessary infrastructure to welcome EV's to the market in 2010,” explains Richard Lowenthal, CEO of Coulomb Technologies.

Vancouver’s ChargePoint Networked Station is open to all drivers of plug-in vehicles.

“We are proud to offer the first of many publicly available charging stations for electric vehicles in Vancouver,” said Jay Giraud, CEO of REV. “Infrastructure is the necessary component in order to fuel these zero emission vehicles.”
