One of the world’s most polluting and excessive personal vehicles may soon be extinct according to General Motors (GM). The ailing company recently announced that production of the iconic Hummer would cease after a deal fell through with Chinese heavy equipment maker Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines.
"We are disappointed that the deal with Tengzhong could not be completed," said John Smith, GM vice president of corporate planning and alliances. "GM will now work closely with Hummer employees, dealers and suppliers to wind down the business in an orderly and responsible manner."
However, the media is now reporting that GM is looking at a few ‘long shot’ offers to buy the Hummer line. It would be better for the planet if the Hummer would rest in polluting peace!
