TW4XP is a three-wheeled human-electric hybrid cabriolet using an efficient electric engine, regenerative energy capture, and with a pedaling mechanism that can extend the driving range while giving the driver a serious workout. Based on the Twike, which has been on sale in Europe since 1996, with almost 1000 sold worldwide and costing around €20,000-40,000 (US$25,800-51,600), the TW4XP stands for ThreeWheeler 4 X Prize.

The Progressive Automotive X-Prize competition requirements are a maximum speed above 80mph (128.7kph), acceleration of 0–60mph in less than 12 seconds, a range greater than 100 miles
(162km) with an energy consumption of less than 16kWh per 100 miles (9.88kWh per 100 kms).
The TW4XP is one of seven remaining competitors for the US$2.5 million (€1.936M) Progressive Automotive X-Prize, other finalists include the Aptera 2e, Li-ion Motors' Wave II, RaceAbout, Western Washington University's Viking 45 and the Zap Alias.
