At the Paris Motor Show, held each year in October, the HYmotion3 Compressor concept vehicle was debuted by Peugeot. Although many green vehicles are making an appearance, this personal scooter/vehicle hybrid is the perfect vehicle for city living. Peugeot describes it as ‘the HYmotion3 Compressor is an original proposal designed to facilitate urban mobility’. The vehicle will include hybrid/petrol technology.
This new generation technology actually comes together in a three wheel drive vehicle, benefiting from improved safety and driveability, yet combining economy - with the very important - environmentally-friendly specifications. Sounds like a good idea. Best of all, the designers are suggesting that there will be only 47g/km of CO2 emissions in the combined hybrid cycle and zero when running in electric only mode. The equivalent gas consumption is around 50kms to the liter so it works out to around 3cents a kilometer (at C$1.50 a liter).
With an electric motor in each of its two front wheels, coupled at the rear with a petrol engine, this innovative hybrid technology allows each of its wheels to provide motive power to get its 29bhp down on the tarmac. Two separate Peugeot teams converged on a similar idea and finally worked in tandem to develop an original futurist personal vehicle. Now let’s hope Peugeot can turn the HYmotion3 Compressor into a reality.
