Sustainable Urban Furniture

Imagine a welcoming city environment where there is public outdoor furniture illuminated by solar panels. Brazilian industrial designer Helena Bueno, from Baita Design, has created Cinco: Sustainable Urban Furniture to make cities a bit more inviting and to encourage people to think about sustainability.

“It’s a well being point that not only offers a comfortable space and a meeting point for pedestrians but also allows users go green with its eco-friendly design,” explain the designers.

Designed for use in public spaces, sidewalks and squares, the solar paneled stools form a table when not in use, gathering the suns rays to illuminate the LED lamps in the evening.

“It helps the environment by using solar energy, but it also provides a sustainable resting place, humanizing the urban environment and making cities a better place to live,” the designers explain.
