Created by a design collective, the Eolic wind-powered foldable generator is a genius idea. Designed to provide wind power on construction sites and other hard to reach locations, the lightweight wind generator is constructed from aluminium and carbon fibre, making it easy to carry and assemble.

Although still in the concept stages, it is encouraging to see more design options for portable alternative energy – solar panels as portable power generators are becoming more common, cheaper and more efficient. Having a small wind-powered generator, provided it can be placed in a windy location far enough from obstructions, seems like a good idea for capturing power through the night as well as the day, storing the power in batteries for when it is needed.
