Google, often at the forefront of innovative green corporations (although the company is certainly not perfect – Google received international criticism for their 2006 decision to self-censor to appease the Chinese government) has recently launched a Haunted House Energy Calculator online just in time for Halloween.
The energy calculator lets you know what to do if you are haunted by energy ghosts (that eerie moan is energy escaping up the chimney), vampires (home electronics sucking up electricity), monsters (inefficient heating and cooling systems), zombies (computers feeding off your wallet), or demons (hot as heck lightbulbs burning away energy).
Each type of ‘haunting’ can be exorcised by getting more energy efficient. Aside from the Haunted House Calculator, they offer a slew of info and resources for individuals looking to reduce their energy footprint. Google believes their energy solutions will vanquish the ghouls of Halloween from haunting your house with high-energy bills this winter.
