“What’s your connection to mountaintop removal,” asks a new online advocacy group I Love Mountains. The coalition of organizations is asking Americans to make the connection between their electricity use, coal mining and mountaintop removal, considered to be one of the most devastating forms of coal mining. More than 470 mountains have been destroyed for coal in America.

By entering your American zip code on the website, you can find out if your energy consumption is contributing to mountaintop removal in the Appalachian Mountains.

Through iLoveMountains.org, seven grassroots organizations from five Appalachian states have come together to use cutting edge technology to inform and involve Americans in their efforts to save the mountains.

This conversation is going no where. It’s lacking the place of a good leader to head the things to come out on conclusion.
