Those zany tricksters The Yes Men managed to make the US Chamber of Commerce look even more ridiculous when they held a spoof press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC today (October 19, 2009) and told reporters that the Chamber of Commerce had reversed their position on climate change.
The US Chamber of Commerce has come under considerable heat of late for their blatant anti-climate change stance. Corporations such as Apple, Nike, Johnson & Johnson and General Electric have parted ways with the US Chamber of Commerce due to their position.
The press conference hoax was organized by The Yes Men to draw attention to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's fight against public interest on climate change.
Near the end of the spoof meeting, a real Chamber of Commerce spokesperson, Eric Wohlschlegel, interrupted and said the event was a fraud. However, several media organizations had already filed reports on the US Chamber of Commerce’s radical, but unfortunately untrue turn around.
