A new environmental television commercial has become an unexpected YouTube hit. The video features pregnant and breast-feeding mothers, infants, children and athletes, all smoking cigarettes to highlight the fact that US Senators Blanche Lincoln (D-Arkansas) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) are trying to impede the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate greenhouses gases under the Clean Air Act.
The Air We Breathe video, created by activist organizations Sierra Club and MoveOn.org, explains that Americans are already exposed to too many greenhouse gases and should support the Clean Air Act.
‘Many Americans are already smoking the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes a day just from breathing the air,” explains the commercial.

It's scary to hear that in some places, you can't escape the equivalent of a pack-per-day smoking habit! I'd be interested in seeing the research behind the health effects of greenhouse gasses in these areas.
